Recipe author: Malin Seijboldt

Pickled red onion is the perfect side for dishes like pulled pork or tacos, adding a touch of sweetness and a pop of color. This sugar-free version is just as delicious and can be stored in the fridge for several weeks.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 red onions
  • 150 ml distilled vinegar (white vinegar)
  • 100 ml water
  • 150 ml Use Like Sugar
  • A pinch of salt

Pickled red onions without added sugar.

      INSTRUCTIONS

Peel and slice the red onions thinly, keeping the slices a bit long if preferred, and place them in a glass jar. In a saucepan, bring the vinegar, water, Use Like Sugar, and salt to a boil. Pour the hot mixture over the onions in the jar, using a fork to ensure the onions are fully immersed.

Allow the jar to cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours to let the onions absorb the flavors.

Your pickled red onions are now ready to enjoy!
