WHAT ARE ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS?

Artificial sweeteners, or sugar substitutes, are chemicals added to some foods and beverages to make them taste sweet. But is it good for you? There are numbers of studies that suggest artificial sweeteners may actually play a big role in weight gain rather than weight loss. They may also increase one’s risk for obesity, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Artificial sweeteners don’t satisfy the brain’s craving for something sweet, thereby leading the person to consume other calorie-rich foods to compensate. Example of artificial sweeteners is Aspartame, Acesulfame potassium, Sucralose. We never use artificial sweeteners in our products, because there are other natural alternatives that are a lot better!
