Recipe author: Malin Seijboldt
Toffee is a favorite treat at Christmas and is also perfect to give as a gift. This recipe is for a healthier version of saffron toffee that has no added sugar but is still sweet and rich in saffron flavor.
INGREDIENTS
- 100 g butter
- 3 dl Use like sugar
- 2 dl whipped cream
- 1 dl light Fiber syrup
- 2 pkt saffron
- Caramel Stevia drops
INSTRUCTIONS:
Start by melting the butter in a saucepan. Then add the cream, syrup, saffron and Use like sugar. Stir well and cook for 1.5 hours until the charcoal becomes chewy and delicious and passes the charcoal test.
Then line a baking sheet with baking paper and pour the caramel batter over the baking paper in a thick rectangle. Leave to set on the tray at room temperature overnight.
Once it has set, cut it into small oblong bars and twist it in three turns to make a spiral. Roll each piece of coal in baking paper to prevent them from sticking together.
Tip. Wrap a few pieces of coal in baking paper in some cellophane plastic and tie a Christmas string around them to make a lovely and delicious gift!
